Policies, Policies, Policies!!!

I have "pet-peves", just like everyone else. One of mine is when someone tells me what I can/can't do with my children. The school has for the last few years had a rule that they will not dismiss any child after a certain time. Normally this time is about 20-30 minutes before school lets out. I see the point in this. It is so parents won't always come in and check out their children simply because they don't want to wait.  I agree with this. However, I also believe in making appointments after the school day has ended. So when a parent needs to take their child to an appointment and the appointment time is close to the end of the school day they need  to get that chid out just a few mintues early. This has happened to us recently for the first time in five years of being with this current school. We just needed to get the kids out a few minutes to make it to a 3:15 appointment. The principal made the mistake of telling Jay that he couldn't get his son at that time. Needless to say, he got him anyways.
Then today. Out of nowhere they start telling parents that we can no longer walk our children to their classrooms. And again I see the point in this. It builds independence for the children and so on. But again, who are you to tell me that I can't do something with my own child?!!?  This really pisses me off! I would be happy to be able not to have to drag Chase and Allie into the school every morning to walk Landon to his classroom but if he needs me to do that so that he will have a good day then that is my right as a mom!

Fall is Here

I love all the seasons for different reasons. I love the fall b/c of the weather. I love being able to open my doors and windows and let the fresh air blow through the house.
I love all the festivals that happen during the fall.
I love the decorations and the way the trees change colors.  It's so beautiful in the fall.
The fair. Ah the fair. The food and the kid rides and the smell. I love the fair. I'm not a big ride fan. In fact I puke on nearly everything. The ferris wheel makes me so nervous that I wouldn't even think of taking my children on it yet.  If you actually saw how quickly they put those rides together then you would never go on one either. But the kids rides I feel better about letting my children go on. Maybe b/c they are lower to the ground and don't go as fast. The food is what I go for. And the bumper cars and the fun houses.
I also love back to school time. I love taking the children out to buy school supplies and shopping for new clothes.  I love shopping for anything in fact.
Then there is HALLOWEEN. While I'm not big on being scared and watching scary movies or doing the haunted trails I love taking the kids out trick or treating and figuring out the corn mazes.
FOOTBALL TIME! I love college football. Jay makes fun of me b/c I get so crazy when there is a game on. But I love me some football.  Landon will be playing football this season. It's just flag football, still too young for tackle. I think he will like it.
So needless to say we are super busy during the fall.

The Streaker

We had just brought Allie home from the hospital. We had been home long enough for Jay to go back to work and for me to be home alone with all the children. The boys were outside in the backyard playing with the water sprinkler instead of in the pool that I have spent countless hours and money on this summer alone. I am sitting just inside the door feeding Allie but able to look outside to check on them. I get lost in Allie's sweetness as she is nursing as I always do. When I finally look up to check see what the boys are up too now all I see is Chase. Running through the backyard with nothing on but a pair of water shoes. He is so funny. These are the times when I love being not just a mom but a stay-at-home mom. These are the moments that make it all worth it!

School Time Again

It's back to school time again! Kylie is so excited and cannot wait to go back and see all her friends and carry her new backpack and use her new horse notebook. We went shopping and got her an entire new wardrobe. Now she won't sop talking about it.
Landon is a little excited about it. He doesn't talk about it as much as Kylie does but when I mention kindergarten he gets a small smile on his face. We found out that he will have Mrs. Smith for his teacher and that we know one of his friends will be in his class with him. He was excited to find out about that.
Chase is starting pre-school this year. He is NOT excited about it all. In fact he is fighting it tooth and nail all the way. I have a feeling that I will have to pull him off of me those first couple of days. He will be at Protestant Preschool. We haven't found out who he will have yet. We know it won't be the same teacher that Landon had and we are a little disappointed about that but we know that he will have an awesome teacher with whom ever he gets out there. We love that place and we know that he will too, once he gets the hang of it all.
I am totally excited about this year at school. With all the big kids in some sort of school this year Allie and me get to have some alone time. A few days a week we get to spend just her and I cuddling and really bonding.
Jay is off for now. At least until he finds a new job. He will wait to get the kids in school so that he can be a part of all of that before he goes back to anything. He wants to start his own business so we will see where that takes us.

Our World Has Changed

On July 10th, 2010 our world changed! Allison Nichole Warrick was born at 215pm weighing 7lbs 4oz and 20 1/2 inches long. She is amazing! She has a headfull of brown hair. Although I see a little bit of red coming out in it. She is so precious to me. I can sit and hold her for hours, although the boys don't like it when I do. Especially Chase! He is a little jealous over her. I am nursing with her so every time I sit down to feed her he wants something. He will get use to everything I hope sooner rather than later.
Everyone is doing great. Daddy is happy with the new addition. Mommy is overjoyed with her little girl. Kylie is loving having a girl in the house. Landon helps out when he can. And Chase still hasn't touched her. I think he is a bit scared of her.

It's A GIRL!!!

We found out that we are having a little girl. FINALLY! After all these boys in the family we now have a baby girl to dress up! Everything still looks good. She should be here around July 10th. Although Jay thinks she will come early. As long as she is healthly she can come early. I am so ready to start decorating her room. I have already been shopping and have her bedding picked out. I have to clean her crib up and paint the nursery but I still have some time before I have to do all of that.
We are just so excited right now and enjoying the moment!!

Lots of First

We have had a lot of firsts in this house. A week ago Kylie fell and got her first broken bone. And she did it good too! She broke her left arm all the way through. She had to have surgery the following day to have a pin put in and have some bone fragments removed. She goes next week for her first hard cast. She wants a hot pink one, of course!
Landon rode his bike all the way down the rode for the first time yesterday. He has never gotten on it and peddled but he did it yesterday. I was so proud! He is so excited that he and Kylie can ride bikes together now. Once she gets her cast off.
Chase stayed in big boy underwear all day yesterday. Another first! Looks like he will be potty trained before he is three after all! A first for the family. The youngest to be potty trained!! Yippie.
Jay and I went to the doctor for a check up on the new baby. We still don't know the sex yet. We will find out in February. I'm excited to know. I want to go shopping!! The heartrate is good. In the 170s. Everything looks good so far.
